The team at Amazon in Daventry won two awards at this year’s Northampton Logistics Awards at the Mercure Northampton Hotel.

The site won Community Partnership of the Year for its collaboration with Creating Tomorrow College, recognising the work both organisations have undertaken together to support young people in the community and create opportunities for the future.

The Daventry team were also awarded a special judges award for the unique impact the team of 600 volunteers has been able to make in Northamptonshire for charities and schools, raising over £30,000 across the last year.
Katy Donnelly from Amazon in Daventry, said: “We’re proud to be celebrated in not one but two categories at the Northampton Logistics Awards. Community engagement is a crucial part of what we do at Amazon in Daventry, and our partnership with Creating Tomorrow Trust has given us the opportunity to support young people in our local community. It’s fantastic to see the work of our employees and partners recognised in this way.”
Stacey Morris from Creating Tomorrow Trust said: “Our partnership with Amazon in Daventry has created valuable opportunities for our students to learn, develop their skills and gain insight into the world of work. We’re so pleased to have won this award and look forward to continuing our work together.”
The Northampton Logistics Awards ceremony took place on 9 October, with three representatives from Daventry attending the event.
Community donations and employee volunteering are just two of the ways Amazon supports the communities where it operates. Amazon co-founded the Multibank initiative with former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown to support families in need. The West Midlands Multibank opened this year, with Birmingham Voluntary Service Council (BVSC). The initiative has donated more than 12 million surplus goods to over 800,000 families across Wales, Scotland, Greater Manchester, London, Tees Valley and Birmingham. This year, the Multibank will send 1 million orders to families across the UK.
Amazon has supported more than one million students across the UK with free STEM education programmes through Amazon Future Engineer and helps community organisations transport meals and other essentials to families in need through its pro bono logistics programme, Amazon Local Good.
Amazon partners with Comic Relief and is the official home of the charity’s iconic Red Nose. Together with its employees, customers, and partners, Amazon has raised over £4.8 million to fund projects that support people across the UK, and around the world.
