From having fun at Wicksteed Park and Dinosaurs in the Park at Delapre Abbey, to learning new things at the Silverstone Interactive Museum, Northamptonshire has a lot to offer – and here are 15 things you can pencil in for the six-week break.
9. The Pinnacle Climbing Centre
With more than 200 climbing routes, for all ages and abilities, The Pinnacle Climbing Centre is Northamptonshire’s premier indoor climbing and caving facility. Numerous courses are also on offer, from ‘movement masterclasses’ to ‘climbing taster sessions’. Caving is also available to book. Photo: Pinnacle Climbing Centre
10. Stoke Bruerne
Stoke Bruerne is a small village in West Northamptonshire, and a great location if you are looking to get out and about for a day. You can take a wander along the canal and see the barges go through the locks, find out more at the Canal Museum, take a boat trip, or walk south along the path to the nature reserve.
Take a picnic, or visit one of the eateries along the canal. Photo: Stoke Bruerne
11. Trapp’d
There are many locations for Trapp’d escape rooms across Northamptonshire – Corby, Northampton, Wellingborough, Billing Aquadrome and Kettering. If you are looking for an activity the whole family can be involved in, an escape room is perfect – but it comes with no guarantee you are all going to agree and manage to escape.
If you are looking for something different, why not try out their DESTROY’D rooms, where you and someone else simply destroy everything in sight. You are given protective clothing and a weapon, and you are good to go.
You can find out more about the 18 escape rooms, and book a session online. Photo: Trapp’d
12. Gravity Trampoline Park, Sol Central
The general park activity area is made up of trampolines, parkour, a slam dunk zone and a wipeout machine, which children can make the most of in the hour-long sessions – which start every half an hour throughout the day.
There are also parent and toddler sessions for younger children too. Photo: Gravity
