From having fun at Wicksteed Park and Dinosaurs in the Park at Delapre Abbey, to learning new things at the Silverstone Interactive Museum, Northamptonshire has a lot to offer – and here are 15 things you can pencil in for the six-week break.
5. Silverstone Interactive Museum
Another one for the families who want a fun and educational day out is the Silverstone Interactive Museum, located at the circuit.
With more than 60 hands-on displays to tell the story of the history and heritage of Silverstone, this is the place for British motorsport lovers – or those who are simply interested in finding out more.

6. Rookery Open Farm, Stoke Bruerne
If it is animals you are interested in, Rookery Open Farm provides a great hands-on experience for all the family. The children can meet the animals, and play indoors and outdoors in the activity areas – perfect for a warm day. You may even get the chance to meet ‘Daisy the milkable cow’.
There is no need to pre-book. You can simply turn up and pay on arrival. More information about pricing is available online. Photo: Rookery Open Farm
7. Pick Your Own Sunflowers at Wappenham Farm
Although tickets are not on sale yet, you can put August 20 to 29 in your diary – as Wappenham Farm, in South Northamptonshire, will be opening up their sunflower patch and maize maze to the public. If that is not enough, there are farm animals to feed and a pop-up cafe for a pit stop for lunch between the exploring. Photo: Wappenham Farm
8. Summer Camp at Northampton High School
Set up by Kings Camps, this summer camp is available for two age groups – five to 14 year olds, and 15 to 17 year olds. These five-day camps may be a great option if you work long hours and want to make sure your child or children are getting the most out of their summer holiday.
They can expect whole-camp warm-ups, high energy team games, and lots of new sports. Photo: Northampton High School
