And it has now been decided that leaflets emblazoned with a question mark will be handed out before the Sky Bet League Two encounter with in-form Oxford United.

Fans will then hold up the leaflets in the 12th minute of the match before continuing to give their full support to the team.

The Trust revealed the details of the protest on Twitter, where the #WeWantAnswers campaign began, tweeting: “Fans will be congregating at 1.30pm at the bottom of the steps to hand out leaflets.

“A number of fans will also be distributing leaflets in Carr’s Bar and the Sixfields Tavern.

“A media opportunity will take place at 1:50pm at the top of the steps for photographs and interviews with Trust members.

“#NTFC fans will be encouraged to hold up their leaflets in the 12th minute of the match - and after that encourage the team.

“Tomorrow (Friday) we will be releasing an open letter to the prospective new owners of #NTFC. 3,000 leaflets will be printed tomorrow. #WeWantAnswers.”

Cardoza has told the Chron he will not be at the game to see the protest after “following advice”.
