The closures include the length of Daventry Road, Badby, Fawsley and Charwelton from Hellidon Road, Charwelton, to Staverton Road, Badby.

This is for safety during surveys, coring and carriageway surfacing works.

The proposed order will come into effect on Thursday, November 5, and it is expected that the road will be restricted for three days.

Drivers are recommended to use the A422, A423, A425 and A45 as alternative routes.

In Daventry itself, an application has been made to ‘stop up’ Newnham Drive between Farnborough Drive and Sulby Close, on the grounds that it is unnecessary as highway.

This application will be heard at Northamptonshire Magistrates’ Court sitting at The Court House, Midland Road, Wellingborough, on December 1.

Further afield, closures are set to affect parts of the A43 from Evenley to Tiffield, to enable routine maintenance works to be carried out.

The effect of the order will be to close, at different times,

(1) any slip road or link road leading to or from the northbound and southbound carriageways of the A43 between its junction with The B4525 overbridge, at Syresham, and the centreline of Winterhills overbridge, at Silverstone;

(2) the laybys situated adjacent to:

(a) the northbound carriageway of the A43 about 360 metres southwest of its junction with the centreline of St Johns Road, at Tiffield;

(b) the northbound carriageway of the A43 about 391 metres north of the centre point of the Whittlebury Road overbridge, at Silverstone;

(c) the northbound carriageway of the A43 about 400 metres southwest of the centre point of its roundabout junction with Broad Lane and Charlton Road, at Evenley; and

(d) the southbound carriageway of the A43 about 343 metres northeast of the centre point of the Winterhills overbridge, at Silverstone.

The work will be carried out overnight between 8pm and 6am and is expected to start on Monday, November 2, and continue for 12 nights. The layby closures will be in operation between 1pm and 6am each day, for the duration of the works.

Diversion routes using alternative junctions of the A43 will be signed.
