Daventry Town suffered penalty shootout heartbreak as they bowed out of the NFA Hillier Senior Cup at the quarter-final stage last Saturday.
Jamie Forrest's side looked to be heading for a last four trip to Kettering Town as they led Peterborough United Under-23s for the majority of their last eight clash at the Master Abrasives Stadium.

Archie May took full advantage of a defensive slip from the Posh youngsters to fire Daventry into a 17th-minute lead with a cracking left-footed drive from 25-yards out.
The Purple Army held on to that lead until the final minute of normal time and were made to pay for not taking their chances when Patrik Sykut levelled the match for Posh, curling home a right-footed effort from just outside the box.
That was how it finished which meant it was straight to a penalty shootout, and Daventry were found wanting as they were beaten 4-2 on spot-kicks after misses from Tom Iaciofano and Luke Emery.
Daventry quickly shook off their cup shootout disappointment as they secured a welcome 3-0 win over GNG Oadby Town in the United Counties League Premier Division South on Tuesday night.
It was a first league win for Town since December 13, and a first home win in the UCL since November 29.
Rhys Hoenes netted twice in the second half, with Joshua Yeboah having put then 1-0 up in the first half.
On Saturday it is derby day for Forrest's side as they make the trip to Northampton to take on ON Chenecks at Billing Road.

Ben James had a good day with the boot for Daventry, slotting four penalties to keep his side in touch, but it wasn't enough as the home side were edged out, and they were leapfrogged in the table by Olney after they beat Old Coventrians.
Things don't get any easier for Daventry this Saturday, as they make the trip to Northampton to take on high-flying Old Scouts, who have won 10 of their 13 matches so far this season.
