New signings Luke Prosser and Danny Rose played their first games in Cobblers colours in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Wolves on Tuesday.

Central defender Prosser, who has signed on loan until the end of the season from Southend United, and former Oxford United midfielder Rose, brought in on a short-term contract last week, both got through 90 minutes of the 1-1 draw.

The pair were both named on the bench for last Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two clash with York City, but weren’t required in the 2-0 victory.

Sam Hoskins, another unused substitute from the weekend, scored the Northampton goal as they drew with the Molineux club.

“It was a good competitive game,” said Cobblers assistant boss Alan Knill.

“Luke and Danny both played the full 90 minutes, and it was a good chance for us to give some of the other players in the squad a run out as well.

“The players showed a great attitude as always and this was a really good workout for us.

“We’ve got a busy schedule of Saturday Tuesday games coming up over the next few weeks and it’s important that everybody in the squad is fit and ready.”
