New aid keeps people enjoying sport at Daventry club

More people will be able to start and continue with indoor bowling thanks to a new aid donated to a Daventry club.

Daventry Indoor Bowls Club was delighted to receive a bowling aid that enables people who have difficulties bending to continue bowling. Chairman John Sach thanked John Moore of Daventry Motorcycle School for his donation.

The revolutionary aid has already enabled bowlers at the Daventry club to continue to enjoy their bowling.

Mr Sach said: “At the indoor bowls club we are very inclusive and have members from teens to people in their 90s.

“The next item the club would like to improve is the bowling wheelchair. The one we have is quite old, and is not the easiest to use.”

The club is holding an open day this Saturday (June 25) as part of the Daventry Arts Festival from 9.30am to 3pm. The open day allows people to go and have a look around the club and give bowls a try for free. All equipment will be provided. See the website daventryeagles.co.uk for more information.
