Daventry's bypass, closed due to flooding, is set to reopen on Friday.

Stefen Way, from the A361 slip-roads to Badby through to the Leamington Way junction, was closed heavy rain over the festive period lead to the road flooding with large areas of standing water posing a hazard to motorists.

Initially it was hoped the water would drain away, but highways engineers discovered a blocked drain and that the standing water had damaged the road.

The stretch is set to reopen ‘late’ on Friday once the roadworks have been carried out.
