Young musicians to perform concert at Royal Albert Hall

A band of 50 musicians from Daventry are to perform at the Royal Albert Hall later this month.

Ahead of this concert, the musicians from Daventry Music Centre are to perform at the venue on Saturday.

Doors open at 11.15am to the public for refreshments and a raffle. The concert will run from 11.45am to 12.30pm.

The youngsters took part in the Mighty Sky Project last October at the Icon in Daventry. They rehearsed music written by Beth Nielson Chapman, who was there that day with Jon Cohen, musical arranger, Paul Roche, ASE Wales president); Rock Alvey,director of the Vanderbilt Dyer Observatory in Nashville and writer of the lyrics in The Mighty Sky, and David Weaver, senior executive at NASA.

They will be performing the Mighty Sky music at the School’s Prom in the Albert Hall in London.

The music centre will be taking several coaches containing players and supporters to the concert.
