A free ukelele workshop is being offered by a club in the Daventry area.
The Daventry Ukelele Society, DUKESUKES, will offer tuition and free use of an instrument during the four-week workshop.
The ukelele club meets every Tuesday at Daventry Town Football Club, with the first workshop commencing on Tuesday, September 15 at 7pm.
Founding member of the society Barry Nash said: “We can teach a complete beginner to play a simple song on their first night, it’s that easy! You don’t even need to be able to read music.”
People can become full members of the society after the workshop is complete. There is no joining fee, but members pay a £2 weekly subscription to cover equipment costs.
“In addition to our Tuesday night gatherings, we also entertain residents at care homes and hospitals, or any worthy cause if requested - particularly at Christmas time with traditional Christmas carols,” Nash said, “So we like to feel we are a real community based club.”
You can contact Barry Nash on 01327 261269 or 07814 128688 for further information on how to enrol for the society.
