Residents embraced a day of exploration and entertainment at a free and family-friendly event in Daventry, with five 'Good Vibe Zones' to explore.
On Saturday (October 21), Daventry Town Council (DTC) hosted a new event, offering free coaching, competitions, and prizes, as well as highlighting the activities of the area's groups, organisations, and clubs.
A DTC spokesperson said they were “delighted” to host the event, and the town was “left smiling” after.
More than 700 visitors attended the “joyous” event at The Parker E-ACT Academy School, which featured live music, entertainment, food and drink, and the opportunity to try out new activities.
Daventry Mayor, Councillor Ted Nicholl, said: “We can feel good in many ways, and this free festival was a great way to get the community together to learn more. I hope people feel inspired to take up a new hobby or activity that makes them feel good.”
An array of local groups, clubs, and enthusiasts showcased their hobbies, skills, passions, sports and activities for visitors to try out and raise awareness of their offers.
"I had a great time at Feel-Good Fest, meeting so many wonderful volunteers who run local groups and clubs which bring much joy and companionship to their members," said Cllr Ted Nicholl.
Throughout the day, attendees were treated to “fantastic” displays and demonstrations from local groups, such as Syndicate Dance Daventry, Fight Klub Daventry, The Cube Disability Arts Academy, Danetre Ukulele Orchestra, and Hot Pod Yoga Daventry.
The event aimed to connect residents with local community groups, organisations, performers, and hobbyists they may not have been aware of, as well as encourage them to adopt healthy habits like moving more or taking up mindfulness activities to boost their mood.
The event was well-attended, with "happy faces" and many residents and visitors from neighbouring towns and villages.
