Now that the majority of lockdown restrictions have been lifted and with schools soon to break up for the holidays, we can finally dust off those cobwebs and start planning our summer.
Luckily, there is plenty to do in and around Northampton this summer with a variety of activities lined up for for lovers of food, music and giant funfairs!
We have compiled a guide on not-to-miss events for this summer so be sure to take out your calendars and mark them down.

Here are some events in and around Northampton to get excited for this summer:
5. Northampton Museum and Art Gallery
Northampton Museum and Art Gallery in Guildhall Road in the cultural quarter of the town has undergone a £6.7 million refurbishment, which has been around five years in the making. It finally opened to the public earlier this month and there is so much to see and do with exhibitions, events and activities running throughout summer! Opening hours are: Tuesday to Saturday, 10am - 5pm and Sunday, 12pm - 5pm.

6. The Mega Bounce Play Park
A huge inflatable park is coming to five different locations in Northampton throughout July and August! There will be something for all ages - tots, teens and even adults! Visitors can slip down the massive 25 foot platform slide, engage in combat on the gladiator duel or duck, weave and climb their way through the 60 foot obstacle course. There will also be a variety of bouncy castles, a bungee run, ball pits, space hoppers, fete games and nerf wars to make up a quality family day out. 7. Party in the Park
August 28 - August 29. Party in the Park will see the biggest tributes playing at Abington Park including Queen, Madness, Oasis, Abba and Little Mix amongst many more big names! There will also be children's entertainment throughout the day including circus workshops, birds of prey and a giant fairground. Tickets can be pre-booked at £5.25 for children and £10.80 for adults.

8. Summer Festival of Light
July 24. The Summer Festival of Light takes place on July 24 at the Market Harborough Showground, where there will be a colour smoke display, hot air balloons, a firework display, street food, local bespoke bars and a giant funfair! Tickets are £20 for adults and £10 for children.
