Review: The Woman in Black at the Royal and Derngate, Northampton.
The small dark and intimate theatre, is the perfect venue for a tale full of scares and suspense.
It sees a young solicitor who is sent to sort out up the affairs of a recently deceased woman. However, the dead woman had led a reclusive life in a remote and mysterious house. But the locals will not help because they believe the house to be cursed.
This is a clever story full of surprise and suspense and they have used humour well to keep the audience settled but still scared.
The scares leave you on the edge of your seat and the end comes with an excellent twist right at the end. It was an excellent show.
