Whilton Locks Garden Village has bought a real ice rink to the area as part of its festive season.
The rink, made with real ice as opposed to synthetic material used last year, will be at the garden village alongside a Santa’s Grotto and reindeer, who can be seen from Sunday.
Jackie Hunt from the garden village said: “We are an independent garden centre and unique from that perspective, so we wanted to do something different.
“We had the synthetic ice last year and it was very successful.
“But we wanted to go the extra mile and have the real ice this time. We wanted to make the event bigger and better than last year.”
The skating rink will be open until January 5 and runs from 9am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and 10.30am to 4.45pm on Sundays. Tickets cost between £3.75 and £10 depending on age and time of visit.
There will also be skating until 8pm on selected days.
The garden village also has a Santa’s Grotto which will be open every weekend as well as Frosty the Snowman attractions.
