A show which indulges Britain’s love for baking will be coming to the area as part of a nationwide tour.
The Daily Bread tells the story of August de Ville is a master baker and his tiny village bakery which is the talk of the town, as the WI ladies flock for miles to sample his sumptuous sponge and beautiful buns.
The villagers love his exuberant nature, but does the cheery facade hide a dark secret? That he shares the same name as the hated newspaper magnate – responsible for hiding the truth of the Bottledale bank crash- is, August claims, just a sad coincidence.
Expect a riotous night of clowning, comedy, Machiavellian subterfuge and live baking. Colin Scott-Moncrieff, plays the lead August de Ville.
It will be performed on Saturday October 18 at Wootton Memorial Hall and starts at 7.30pm. Tickets for the show can be booked by calling 01604 701925.
