Fiori Musicali has organised a young artists recital to bring some talented musicians to Fawsley Hall.

The group has organised the recital for Sunday, March 2 and starts at 7pm. In the hot seat is two promising musicians, Claire Babbington and pianist Pavel Tomofejevsky.

Claire currently plays with the Halle Orchestra and Liverpool Philharmonic, as well as with Fiori and performs classics for cello and piano by Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Brahms.

She will be accompanied on the night by the young Russian pianist – Pavel Tomofejevsky – a Purcell School protegé and Guardian young composer of the year.

It is designed to add to the group’s reputation of attracting some of the finest specialist musicians to this part of the country and bringing beautiful music to beautiful places.

Part of Fiori’s mission is to encourage the next generation of great musicians.

Penelope Rapson, Fiori’s director, said: “It’s a real privilege to be able to give a platform to these exceptional new generation artists.

“Claire has played with Fiori for a little while now, and her performances always ‘hit the spot’ with audiences.

“Her partner for this recital is Russian pianist Pavel Tomofejevsky – a very special performer with a wonderful touch.

“This is a concert not to be missed! And for the many people who enjoy music by the great classical composers of the 19th century – Beethoven, Schubert and Brahms – their recital will be a real treat.”

She also outlined the importance of bringing musicians such as Claire and Pavel to the area.

Penelope added: “Fiori’s mission is to bring great professional music to the people of Northamptonshire.

“It’s so important to be able to hear first class musicians right here in Northamptonshire, and not have to travel all the way to London to enjoy such experiences”.

Punters going along to the concert also have the option to have dinner after the concert in the lake-side setting of Fawsley Hall.
