Review - Singin’ in the Rain at Milton Keynes Theatre.
There is a lot of joy and plenty of fun with this classic stage musical.
Singin’ in the Rain sees a silent movie duo who’s success is threatened by the arrival of talking pictures.
One of the most impressive things about the show is the high level of production values which one would normally find in the West End.
A slick well designed set effortlessly transforms from a film set to an office and then to a outside street.
But everyone expects the most famous scene to be perfect and with gallons of water and a slick, well choreographed routine, it recalled warm memories of the film. James Leece playing Don Lockwood channels Gene Kelly to bring us a delightful rendition of the classic moment.
This musical certainly will make you feel warm inside and get you singing in the rain as you leave the theatre.
