Audiences go along to a village church can listen to some classical music and raise funds to help the building at the same time.
The Vieneese Gala Concert takes place at St Mary’s Church in Everdon on Saturday June 18 starting at 6.30pm.
The works by Johann Strauss can be heard while there is also the Overture to The Merry Wives of Windsor and Roses from the South Waltzes.
There will be an hour’s interval to picnic in the churchyard.
All of the proceeds of the ticket sales will go to the restoration of the church.
Tim Coghlan, who has organised the concert said: “The reason why the ticket sales will all go to the church is due to the very generous sponsorship from a number of villagers, who together have paid for the orchestra.
“This is because they are keen to see the village church used in this way – bringing people to this magnificent church, who might otherwise be unaware of it. And raising money for the church’s ongoing preservation.”
Tickets for the show cost between £5 and £25 and can be booked by calling 01327 361296 or 07860 187158. They can also email email@example.com.
