THE glorious Venetian canals will be coming to the stage in Northampton later in the month.
The Northampton Gilbert and Sullivan Group with several members from the Daventry area put on a sprakling production of The Gondoliers.
The show is one of Gilbert and Sullivan’s most popular operettas and is a firm favourite with both audience and performers alike.
There are several outrageously comic characters created by Gilbert including the Duke and Duchess of Plazatoro. These outrageous characters blend with Sullivan’s memorably show stopping tunes Take A Pair of Sparkling Eyes and Dance a Cachucha with a theatrical treat not be missed.
Directing the new show is Tim Hurst Brown who directed the group’s performance of The Ruddigore last year.
The Gondoliers will be performed on the Royal stage in Northampton from Monday to the following Saturday. Tickets cost between £16.50 and £19.50 can be booked by calling the box office on 01604 624811 or visit www.royalandderngate.co.uk.
