Guests announced for literary festival

The editor of the Mail on Sunday and art critic Brian Sewell will be among the guests at this year’s Althorp Literary Festival, it has been announced.

The annual festival, now in its 11th year, will be held at the Northamptonshire stately home from Thursday, June 12 to Saturday, June 14.

Mail on Sunday editor, Geordie Greig, will appear on Thursday, June 12 to talk about his book Breakfast with Lucian: A Portrait of the Artist. The book details the life of artist Lucian Freud and features many previously unseen pictures.

Art critic, Brian Sewell, will also talk about his book Sleeping With Dogs at the festival. The book describes the critic’s love for his pets over the years.

BBC Radio 4’s programme Any Questions will also be broadcast from the festival on Friday, June 13 with free tickets available on a first come first served basis.

No panelists for the recording have yet been announced.

Tickets for the literary festival itself will go on sale in the spring.
