People visiting Hollowell this weekend will be transported back to an age of steam with the return of its annual show.

The 28th Hollowell Steam and Heavy Horse show runs on both Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 5.30pm with an array of different attractions for the whole family.

One of the big attractions this year on both days will be a Spitfire and Hurricane flypast from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. The flypast takes place at around1pm on Saturday and 4pm on Sunday, July 6.

Organisers promise the regular attractions found at the steam rally includingsteam engines, vintage vehicles, heavy horses, fair, pets corner, trade stalls, displays and plenty to eat and drink.

There will be more than 40 steam engines appearing, together with a whole variety of steam-driven vehicles including steam rollers, traction engines, showman’s engines, agricultural engines, steam lorries and miniature steam engines.

There is a fun dog show at Hollowell with something for everyone who loves dogs we will be announcing details of this year’s dog show soon.

The Fun dog Show starts at 12.30pm on Sunday with judging from 1pm. To find out more about the dog show call Chris Owen on 07921 860143.

There will be a wide variety of music to be heard at the rally fromjazz to Caribbean and folk music. Among the bands performing include the Northampton Pipe Band, Raunds Temperance Band, Campion School Band, Grafton Scout Band.

There’s lots of family fun at Hollowell with entertainers around the field together with the modern and old-fashioned fun fairs providing great rides and lots of laughs for both parents and kids alike.

Other attractions include Titan the Robot appearing on Sunday, The Lemmings with some strange ostriches, camels and policemen on stilts and Mr Hairy, a hilarious furry organ playing character who will keep the audience entertained.

Tickets for the show can be boought at the gate and cost £10 for adults, £5 for children and £8 for OAPs with caravan camping at £10 per night.
