VILLAGERS in Chipping Warden are fighting to save a popular Indian restaurant after it was given just 20 days to vacate its premises.

Jamil Chowdhury, owner of the Mahi Restaurant, runs his business from a building which is the property of the Rose and Crown Inn, and the restaurant has been operating for about a year.

But he was asked to leave after a meeting with the new tenants of the village pub and its owner, Hook Norton Brewery, last Monday.

About 200 people from the village have now signed a petition against the decision to close the restaurant.

Hook Norton Brewery said it’s currently looking into the situation.
