The world-famous Dutch Swing College Band return to the region this weekend.
Originally forming during World War 2, members sought to preserve the jazz genre which had been banned in the Netherlands by the Nazi party.
The Orchestra of the Dutch Swing College’s first public performance was on May 5, 1945 with the band soon changing its name to the Dutch Swing College Band.
With a vibrant line-up dedicated to keeping alive its music, the band’s repertoire includes traditional favourites, some originals and Ellington and Basie tunes.
The Dutch Swing College Band play The Stables in Wavendon venue on Saturday, July 11. Doors open at 8pm and tickets cost from £19.50 before fees.
