A choral society is bringing the sounds of the 18th century to a Daventry church later this month.
The Holy Cross Church plays host to the concert by Daventry Choral Society on Saturday, December 12. It is the group’s winter concert and they will be singing the Messiah by George Frideric Handel.
The choir of around 90 singers includes experienced and novice members.
A spokesman for the society said: “We are thrilled to welcome Musical and Amicable Society to Daventry as our orchestra.
“They are period instrument specialists so the sound will be very similar to that which audiences in the 18th century will have heard.”
The soloists for the concert are soprano Judit Felszeghy, mezzo soprano Catherine Griffiths, tenor Simon Lumby and bass singer Tom Bullard.
The performance will start at 7.30pm. Tickets cost between £12 and £15. Students in full time education can attend for £2.
