FANS of the area’s most famous folk convention can get their tickets early to beat the VAT increase.
Fairport’s Cropredy Convention will take place from Thursday, August 11 to Saturday August 13.
Tickets normally go on sale in March, but with VAT on all festival tickets increasing from 17.5 per cent to 20 per cent in January, the organisers are offering them at a discount rate until Tuesday.
During this period, fans will be able to buy tickets at the current lower rate of VAT and get an ‘early bird’ discount of 2.5 per cent, a significant saving for families or groups buying multiple tickets.
The Cropredy VAT-buster tickets will also be despatched in time for Christmas delivery.
The line up for the festival, which takes place in the village of Cropredy, just 15 miles south of Daventry, has not yet been announced.
However, the organisers have confirmed they are in talks with some big names to join the legendary Fairport Convention at the festival.
