A family picnic celebrating togetherness will be held in Daventry on Saturday, June 1.
The Picnic on the Field event, organised by the Southbrook Community Association, takes place from 11am to 2pm on the DSLV school field on the estate.
A spokesman for the association said: “As well as eating until we pop, our family picnic is a time for both the children and adults to relax and enjoy each other’s company; play traditional family games and hopefully soak up the sun’s rays and chat with neighbours and old friends while your children play together.
“The community association will be providing entertainment for the event including arts and crafts, circus skills with Silly Soap the lady clown, and Animal Edutainment an exciting hands-on workshop featuring a wide range of animals, both familiar and exotic.”
A banner portraying family life will be created using submissions from residents and will be displayed at the picnic.
The association has organised a picnic for the past three years, in the past in support of National Family Week. However, this year the national week has been cancelled due to a lack of sponsorship.
But the association decided to continue with their successful event and organise one anyway.
