A community association is getting ready for a Fete on the Field event coming to a Daventry estate later this month.
The Southbrook Fete on the Field will be held on Saturday, September 20 from 11am to 3pm.
It has been organised by the Southbrook Community Association and will be held on the sports field of the Danetre and Southbrook Learning Village.
Jessica Barnsley, one of the association’s fundraising and events coordinators said: “As always the aim of the day is for a fun community event attracting all ages.”
There will be a wide variety of free entertainment at the event including drumming workshops, clown shows, balloon modelling, exotic animals, emergency services, sumo wrestling, birds of prey and more.
Children will also be able to enjoy bouncy castles, small rides, food stalls, crafts and car boot.
This is the seventh year the fete will have been organised by the association.
The association was formed in 1971 and originally met in members’ homes before moving into the local school. But in 1972 they built the estate’s community centre. The association now works to promote the wellbeing of the community and provide recreational and educational activities.
