Group aim to prove music is the food of love at Canons Ashby House

A Shakespearean themed concert is to be held at Canons Ashby House on Saturday to mark the 400th anniversary of The Bard's death.

Eboracum Baroque will perform the concert in the atmospheric priory church and on period instruments.

The programme will include selections from The Fairy Queen (Purcell’s interpretation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream) and The Tempest.

Eboracum Baroque perform on period instruments and are recent graduates from the top conservatoires and universities across the UK including the Royal College of Music and the University of York.

They are a group of young professional singers and instrumentalists at the start classical music careers.

The group was formed in 2012 by Chris Parsons at the University of York and has performed all across the UK in prestigious venues including St John’s College Chapel, Cambridge and The Temple Church, London.

The show runs from 6pm to 7.30pm. Tickets cost £12 for adults and £6 for children. They can be booked in advance by calling 01327 861900.
