Choral society in fine voice ahead of Daventry concert

Daventry Choral Society can be heard at 7.45pm and performs works including Schubert’s Mass No 2 in G Major, and a motet for double choir Der Geist hilft unsrer by Bach.

The concert will also see Spirituals from A Child of our Time by Michael Tippett and Feel the Spirit by John Rutter.

A spokesman for the society said: “The works we are performing require the services of professional soloists and we are thrilled to have soprano Judit Felszeghy, mezzo soprano Catherine Griffiths, tenor Simon Lumby and Rupert Reid on bass performing with us.

“We also welcome back Orchestra da Camera to accompany us. In addition they will perform the orchestral piece Cantus in Memoriam Benjamin Britten by Arvo Part.”

Tickets for the concert cost between £12 and £15. For students in full time education, they are £2.
