A trio of Daventry area bands are among the acts due to appear at the Napton Festival this year, the 10th anniversary of the music event.

Dead Frequency, pictured above, The Bombardies and The Greg Coulson Band will play at the festival running on Friday, July 8 and Saturday, July 9.

In addition, there will be tributes to The Stone Roses and Take That confirmed as the headline acts for the festival. A spokesman for the festival said: “We promised another spectacular festival and we think this year could top it all.

“Napton Festival was conceived in 2006 and has built on experience to put on what must be one of the best small, family-friendly festivals around.

    “The festival goes from strength to strength and has supported local causes and music in schools again over the past year.”

    Tickets for the event are now on sale and the full line- up has been confirmed.

    There will be a bit of attitude from The Total Stone Roses on the festival’s opening night.

    A spokesman said the band are all in their early to mid twenties, bringing the same passion, vigour, arrogance and charisma that only the young have, the old want and that cannot be faked.

    They play all of the best roses material including She Bangs The Drums, Fools Gold and Waterfall.

    Dead Frequency will also play on the opening night. They are a high energy glam punk band and mix the showmanship of Van Halen mixed with the sound of Green Day.

    Appearing on Friday are The Ellipsis, 4th Labyrinth, Warwick Junction and Jolly Rogers

    Take That Live Tribute Band are the headline act for the Saturday night and are as close to the real Take That as possible with their costumes, vocals, choreography and appearance.

    The Bombardies, a rock blues band from Daventry, appear on Saturday. The are made up of Barclay Quarton on vocals and guitar, Phil Wilkes on drums, Richard Box on bass and Ben Hood on lead guitar.

    Long Buckby-based The Greg Coulson Band has been described as one to watch by the organisers. The front man is influenced by the likes of Ray Charles and Steve Winwood.

    Also appearing on Saturday is Feral Ghost, Grace Solero, Gun Hill Riffs, Rosellys, Matilda Pratt, The Rejects, Robinson Stone, Sophie DeBattista and The Redhills.

    Organisers are expecting a sell out so people are urged to book tickets early.

    Tickets for Friday only are £10 and Saturday only are £18. Entrance for under 14s is free. A ticket for both days of the festival costs £20.
