Dane Tree Verse Poetry Night, Early Doors, Daventry. August 30

The second of the regular poetry nights designed for people who have an appreciation of the spoken word or wish to perform some of their material.

Deep in the Northumbrian countryside a terrifying mystery and a legendary nemesis await the arrival of the world’s greatest detective. When the wife of Dr Watson disappears, a desperate quest to find her begins. Sherlock Holmes comes face to face with his greatest fear at the hands of his mortal enemy in this new tale of romance and suspense. The show is presented in the open air by the Chapterhouse Theatre Company.

Grease and the Jungle Book, Winwick Hall, September 1

There will be two films screenings at the rural venue with the gates opening at 2pm. The entertainment starts at 4pm. There is also a fireworkd display choreographed to music.
