Toft win with just one ball to spare

YELVERTOFT won by three wickets with one ball to spare.

Toft won the toss and asked Weekley to bat on a cold grey day with a slow wicket.

Weekley scored 236 for six in 45 overs. Opener Lee Fox scored 51.

Chris Stokes (56 not out) and Robert Head (59) figured in a stand of 103.

Toft were given an excellent start by opening batsmen Will Negus (51) and Andrew O’Neill (59) with an opening stand of 103. The middle order increased the run rate but also lost wickets.

But number four batsman James Martin (49 not out) attacked the Weekley bowlers.

Toft won the match with one ball to spare when Martin hit the penultimate ball of the match for four.
