Saints winger Elliott is hungry for silverware success

Northampton have not claimed a trophy since winning the LV= Cup back in the spring of 2010, but have three big chances this season.

They face Saracens in the Anglo-Welsh final four on Saturday, are top of the Aviva Premiership and have an Amlin Challenge Cup quarter-final at Sale to look forward to.

And Elliott said: “It would mean a lot to win a trophy. We’ve been hunting some silverware for a while.

“We want to get there to please the fans and ourselves.

“We’re always hungry and eager to write our names in the history books.

“The aura around the club is really good. Everyone’s hungry to keep winning and definitely get some silverware.”

Saints have won their past 12 games in all competitions with the pack playing a huge part in torrid conditions.

But with the wind and rain starting to relent, Elliott is hoping the backs can now come to the fore.

He said: “Some of the pitches have been bogged down and the wind and rain have played a factor.

“Now it looks like it’s getting sunnier, the pitches are hardening up and hopefully it will help us do well.”
