Saints star Pisi: I’m at a standstill

George Pisi says he feels like his Saints form is at a ‘standstill’.

Last season’s supporters’ and players’ player of the year scored five tries in the first five games of this campaign.

But he has only scored one in his past 10 matches since then and the skilful centre is frustrated.

“As a rugby player you always want to improve in every single game,” said Pisi, who arrived at Saints from Clermont Auvergne in the summer of 2011.

“At the moment I feel like I’m at a standstill and I still want to bring more out and perform a bit better and bring more to the team.”

So how will Pisi, who starts for Saints against Gloucester today (Saturday), go about lifting his levels to where they were last season?

“I think it’s just the detail of things and making sure I’m doing my role properly and not worrying about trying to do someone else’s role,” he said.

“As a team, collectively, we’ll push forward and have a good last half of the season.”
