Jim Mallinder allayed fears over Tom Collins after Saints’ 19-15 win against Glasgow Warriors on Sunday night.
Collins was carried off after just 25 minutes, having needed lengthy treatment after a nasty collision with Warriors full-back Stuart Hogg.
Hogg had attempted to claim a high ball, but his knee inadvertently struck Collins in the head, with the Saints winger knocked unconscious.
It had echoes of the injury sustained by George North in the win over Wasps last March and prompted plenty of concern on and off the pitch.
But Mallinder said: “Tom Collins took a nasty bang and he was knocked out briefly, but he’s come round.
“He was up, changed and walking around in the changing room so fingers crossed he’ll be fine.
“He was singing in the changing room so hopefully there’s no problem there.”
