Included in a video tribute to the departing men were Kahn Fotuali’i, Victor Matfield, Tim Cardall, Pat Howard, Matti Williams, Alex Woolford and Danny Hobbs-Awoyemi.

Fotuali’i’s exit is the most notable, with the Samoan scrum-half bringing an end to his three-year stay at Franklin’s Gardens.

The 33-year-old will be joining Bath on a two-year deal ahead of the new campaign.

South Africa legend Matfield will be heading home after finishing his career at the Gardens.

Centre Howard, who joined Saints last summer, will be heading to Newport-Gwent Dragons, while versatile forward Williams is off to Worcester Warriors.

Prop Hobbs-Awoyemi will be making the move to London Irish, while lofty lock Woolford looks set to switch to London Welsh.

Saints have already announced the signings of France No.8 Louis Picamoles and South African scrum-half Nic Groom for next season.

And director of rugby Jim Mallinder has revealed that a couple more players will be added to the squad in due course.
