BITTERLY cold weather did nothing to spoil the Gold Track Driving Club season finale which went off in great style on the much-acclaimed Silverstone Grand Prix circuit.

Eighty five owners and their machines made full use of the day to enjoy fast but safe lapping with luminaries such as Martin Brundle, of Grand Prix TV commentary fame, driving an historic Le Mans Porsche and a Ferrari GTC race car.

Gold Track owner and professional racing driver, Calum Lockie, from the Daventry district, had his fleet of Porsche 968 Club Sports for fast lap rides, corporate drives and driver training.

He said: “It was a fantastic season end to a fantastic year for us.

“My Porsches performed faultlessly and all the drivers and passengers thoroughly enjoyed the top level facilities at Silverstone.

“Next year is promising to be even better with 43 track events on our calendar and lots of racing and driver training in the UK and Europe.

“I expect the Porsches to be out there earning their living!”

Apart from the full days Gold Track also run evening sessions at Silverstone. These run from 5.30pm to 8pm and are ideal for novices or people who want to enjoy the race circuit experience.
