Steelbacks confirm two big screens in place at County Ground to show England football
Northants have confirmed there will be two big screens in place for Steelbacks supporters to stay on and watch England's crunch World Cup semi-final clash with Argentina at the cinch County Ground on Wednesday.
Darren Lehmann's side take on Gloucestershire in the quarter-finals of the Vitality Blast at Wantage Road, aiming to secure a place at Finals Day at Edgbaston on Saturday (July 18).
That match has been brought forward from a 6.30pm start to 5pm, avoiding a direct clash with the football that kicks-off at 8pm.
It means Northants supporters will be able to watch the cricket and then stay on at the County Ground to watch Thomas Tuchel's England side try to reach a first World Cup Final since 1966, watching on from the outfield in a ‘fan park experience’.

A club statement read: "Both the Steelbacks and England are looking to book their places in the next stage and you can enjoy both games at the cinch County Ground on Wednesday.
"At 5pm, Darren Lehmann's side welcome Gloucestershire to Northampton to face off in a highly anticipated Vitality Blast Quarter-Final, with the Steelbacks looking to book their spot at Finals Day 2026.
"Following the conclusion of the game, there will be two big screens showing the football where fans will be allowed to enter the outfield for a fan park experience."
And one person who is looking forward to the occasion is Steelbacks head coach Darren Lehmann.
"It is going to be great, we are going to get a packed house here and then the football is on after," said the Australian.
"So hopefully it is a good day with a win in the quarter-final, and then we can watch the footy.
"It's a great day of sport and I am looking forward to it."
