Northampton Saints confirm prop Doran-Jones has agreed Harlequins move

Dorian West has revealed Paul Doran-Jones is set to leave Saints for Harlequins this summer.

Tighthead Doran-Jones, who joined Northampton from Gloucester in 2011, will be one of three props to exit Franklin’s Gardens, with Soane Tonga’uiha and Brian Mujati set for Racing Metro.

Saints moved to strengthen their front row options on Wednesday by announcing the signing of London Irish and England loosehead Alex Corbisiero.

And they also confirmed new deals for talented prospects Alex Waller and Tom Mercey.

But Doran-Jones will not be staying at Saints for next season, as he is set for a switch to the Premiership champions.

“We’ve got three good, young props there (Corbisiero, Waller and Mercey) that we will need going forward,” said West.

“It’s pretty common knowledge that we’re losing Soane and Brian to Racing and I think we’re losing Doran-Jones to Harlequins as well.

“But we’ve got three good, young props we’ve signed there and we’re looking to add to those.”
