Myler in contention for Saints’ trip to Exeter

Stephen Myler will be available for Saints’ Aviva Premiership trip to Exeter on Saturday after England allowed the fly-half to remain with his club.

Myler was released by Red Rose head coach Stuart Lancaster last week and came off the bench to help Northampton beat Saracens 20-16 in the LV= Cup on Saturday.

He will now contunue to train at Franklin’s Gardens this week, with Gloucester No.10 Freddie Burns back in the 33-man England squad after two appearances for the Saxons.

But Dylan Hartley, Courtney Lawes, Tom Wood, Lee Dickson and Luther Burrell, who scored in England’s 26-24 defeat to France on Saturday, have been retained.

Lock Lawes has shrugged off a cheekbone injury sustained at the Stade de France and is fit to face Scotland on Saturday.
