THE Corby East Midlands International Pool was also the venue for the 2015 Wilkinson Sword Diddy Gala for swimmers aged 8-9yrs / 10yrs and 11yrs.
The competition was organised by the Northamptonshire Amateur Swimming Association, and seven of the affiliated clubs took part. The pool was in its 25-metre ‘short course’ configuration.
Dolphins were missing key swimmers in the 9yrs boys and 10yrs girl’s age groups which meant from the start that they could not score points in four events, but points were also lost in a further six races for some basic errors in the technicalities of the sport. On a positive note, there were 14 personal best times recorded.
