Lottie Shaw grabbed two gold medals as the Daventry Dolphins enjoyed their best-ever performance at the second weekend of the 2015 Northamptonshire ASA (NASA) County Swimming Championships in Corby.

Dolphins were represented by 36 of its qualified swimmers at the event that involved individual events as well as Team relays.

The club was missing most of its senior boys due to school holiday trips and overseas triathlon training camps, but the 36 taking part did not disappoint and were literally ‘smashing their own personal best times’.

Two broke very long-standing club records, and two achieved qualification times for the 2015 Midlands Regional Championships.

Northampton Swimming Club was the dominant club, but the Dolphins were second on the medals table.

THE Corby East Midlands International Pool was also the venue for the 2015 Wilkinson Sword Diddy Gala for swimmers aged 8-9yrs / 10yrs and 11yrs.

The competition was organised by the Northamptonshire Amateur Swimming Association, and seven of the affiliated clubs took part. The pool was in its 25-metre ‘short course’ configuration.

Dolphins were missing key swimmers in the 9yrs boys and 10yrs girl’s age groups which meant from the start that they could not score points in four events, but points were also lost in a further six races for some basic errors in the technicalities of the sport. On a positive note, there were 14 personal best times recorded.
