Sheaf battle on to seal win

DWMC B visited Wheatsheaf Weedon A in the first game this week and it was the home side who took the pairs game thanks to a 2-1 win for Brian Farmer (100 x 2) and Mick Doney (140, 100) over Gav Taylor (120f) and Tony Leedham (100).

They then took the first two singles games thanks to wins from Ozzy (100 x 2) 2-1 over James Taylor (100) and Mick Doney (140, 100) 2-1 over Tony Leedham.

Gav Taylor (140, 100) put the away side back in it with a 3-0 win over Dave Bangs but home wins for Brian Farmer (100 x 2) 2-1 over Dave Keating (100) and Bully (140, 137, 100 x 4) 3-0 over Willie Taylor gave Wheatsheaf Weedon A an overall 11-7 success.

Game two saw Wheatsheaf Braunston play hosts to Long Buckby FC.

The home side took the pairs when Swanny (140, 130, 100) and Tommy Kendall (140 x 2) beat Mick Feasey and Ian Bow (100 x 4) 3-0.

The away side then took control with 3-0 wins for Ray Feasey (137) over Gavin Taylor (112s), Pete Shirley over Gordy Aldridge and Mick Feasey (140, 129, 125, 142s) over Adie Newbury. Swanny (140, 131, 125, 100) kept the home side hopes alive with a 3-0 win over Joe Gammidge but Ian Bow (140 x 2, 100 x 5) beat Tommy Kendall (100 x 3) 3-0 in the final game to give Long Buckby FC a 12-6 win overall.

The third game saw Con Club at home to Caseys and this was a thriller.

The home side took the pairs game thanks to a 3-0 win for Ivan Lester (100) and Ray Hobrow over Gary Birch (100) and Caley (100) but the away side drew level when Nigel Turland (140, 105, 100) beat Brian Seal (100) 3-0.

The home side drew clear thanks to wins for Ray Hobrow (140, 125, 100 x 2) 3-0 over Gary Birch and Robin Peasland (100 x 2) 2-1 over Caley.

Dave Summerfield (100s) kept the away side in it with a 2-1 win over Stuart Coe Snr and Chris Gay (171, 133) who took the final game 3-0 against Ivan Lester (100) to make the final score a nine-all draw.

The Olde Sun were unable to field a team in the final game so DWMC A are awarded a 10-0 win.

Performances of the week came from Gav Taylor (120 finish), Ian Bow (11 x 100+ on the night including 7 x 100+ in his singles game), Mick Feasey (142 start), Gavin Taylor (112 start), Dave Summerfield (100 start) and Chris Gay (171 with 3 x T19).
