THE final Daventry Dolphins SC Team gala of the season was the NASA Presentation Gala competition at the Waendel Centre Pool at Wellingborough.
With many swimmers unavailable the team was at a disadvantage from the start and it was unable to field swimmers in 13 individual and relay events
Head Coach Rob Sharp donned his trunks to make up the senior relay teams.
Inevitably the team finished in sixth place but there were many positives to take from the event.
Sophie and Carey swam out of their age groups in the open events to secure valuable points and there were 13 individual personal best times recorded.
Second place was Darren Barber Open 100m breast stroke and third places were: Megan Browne 10yrs 50m free: Emily Sharp 12/u 50m back: Jack Bond 14/u 100m free; Emma Bond 14/u free: Rachel Sullivan 14/u 100m back: Sophie Iacovides Open 100m free and 100m fly: Carey Davis Open 100m individual medley: Darren Barber Open 100m individual medley: Open mixed medley relay Team: Carey Davis/Darren Barber/Robert Sharp/Sophie Iacovides.
Triathlon: Sarah Bennett,16, of the Daventry Dolphins SC Olympic squad has been in action recently competing in triathlons achieving the following results:
Duston 1st in age group and 2nd Overall: Mallory Park/East Midlands 2nd: Charnwood/East Midlands 1st: National duathlon elite 6th: Blenheim youth elite triathlon 6th: Youth elite triathlon at Porthcawl 14th.
