LADIES HOCKEY: Brilliant Buckby stay in the promotion hunt

Long Buckby maintained their promotion hopes witha thumping 5-1 win over Birmingham Wasps.

Bucks dominated from the start and where rewarded quickly when Holly Harris scored. Buckby scored two more in the first half with Harris scoring her second and Zara Nichols her first of the game.

Buckby continued in the same form in the second half and went 5-0 ahead thanks to strikes from Nichols and Amanda Becker.

Wasps scored a late consolation.

Nuneaton too strong

LEADERS Nuneaton proved too strong for Long Buckby IIs as they won 7-0.

Buckby started well but Nuneaton took the lead, and they were 3-0 up by half-time.

Buckby tried to get back in the game, but they were reduced to 10 players following an injury soon into the second half. Nuneaton capitalised on the tiring side to scoure four more goals.

Buckby’s player of the match was Lucy Boston.
