Hectic weeks for busy golfers

HELLIDON Lakes golf club has experienced a hectic few weeks.

The busy times started with the club championship which this year was won by Tom Laver with rounds of 77 and 80 by one stroke. Craig Cotterill was second with rounds of 82 and 76 and in third a further stroke back was Ben French 77 and 82.

Division Two was won by Lloyd Rawlins with a total of 178 from Dan Harris 183 and in third Peter Bosworth 185.

The Hellidon Scut for division three players was a one-horse race with Sam Wade running away with it, amassing 45 points on his way to destroying the field.

His nearest challenger was Tom Upfield with 34 points and in third Steve Trotman 33 points.

Lloyd Rawlins continued his fine form with a win in the President’s Putter.

He scored 36 points to win from Richard Barnes in second with 35 points and Paul Craig in third on 35 points.

Thanks were expressed to club president Malcolm Bodfish whose hospitality on the day was much appreciated by the members.

The same names keep cropping up as Sam Wade lifted the Celebration Cup with 41 points with Bill Stubbins in second on 37 points and Lloyd Rawlins third on 36 points.

The Handicap league team secured a vital 20-0 victory over Farthingstone GC.

With two games to go and just one point needed they look odds on to progress in to the semi-finals.
