WHITTLEBURY Park Golf Club held their Finals Days to celebrate the achievements of members who have won their way through the Summer Knockouts.
The weekend saw the culmination of seven of the eight Board matches played throughout the Summer.
These ranged from Singles to Matchplay, Foursomes to Greensomes.
Whittlebury members turned out in force to motivate their fellow members.
In the Men’s Individual knockouts, Mitch Edwards (Jnr) took the match to the 19th before sealing victory in the Scratch Trophy, while The Sargeant Salver was won by David Castle, beating Iain Havell three and two.
In the Men’s pairs club captain Rob Watson and David Melling delivered a double victory, winning the Wells Foursomes Trophy against Roger Furniss and Roger Martin three and one as well as the Laser Challenge Trophy, where they defeated Chip Thornally and Richard Allenby three and two.
The Ladies’ King Challenge Trophy was claimed by Christina Hancock, and Michelle Watson took Anne Moffitt and Sylvia Smith to the 20th hole before winning the match.
In the newly-introduced Parr Foursomes sponsor Ada Parr and Alison Harris claimed the honours over Tracey Heavey and Alison Williams.
In the Mixed Pairs, Michelle Watson completed her weekend by winning the Tallach Trophy with partner Michael Hancock, shaking hands with their opponents Paul Wikeley and Jill Long.
Club captain Rob Watson said: “We hold all our finals on the same weekend so that everyone can come along and support the finalists, who have worked very hard to reach the final hurdle.
“It’s only fitting that we acknowledge and show our appreciation for their achievement, whether they win or not and the weekend was well supported.”
