Fast time hopes are blown away

ANY plans for a fast time by Leisure Lakes rider Vince Jenkins, were blown away by a gale force wind in his face on the return leg back up the valley, in the Carl Roach Memorial 25 held in Wales over the Bank Holiday Weekend.

But with an official time of 1.01 57 in the supporting event, Vince Jenkins’s performance against his age standard was still better than that of the winner of the Vets on Standard in the main event.

This put into perspective the massive effort that the Leisure lakes man had put in.

“I was initially a bit disappointed when I saw my time,” said Vince, “but when I realised that I had beaten the competition in and around my age group by up to more than five minutes, it didn’t seem so bad after all.”
