DAVENTRY bowlers found the last 32 of the ladies’ National Yetton Plate competition too strong and lost out 50-88 to Peterborough.

The results were, playing at home, Gill Wykes, Jean Nixon, Sylvia Plant and Brenda Bishop 13 Judy Ford 22.

A mixed team recently travelled to Northampton and District for a six-rink game and found the opposition in fine form. Daventry lost out 69-134.

Best rink for Daventry was Barbara Hutt, Mary Gillard, Brian Gelder and Adge Smith who tied 17 all against Ian Daverson’s rink.
