YOUTH FOOTBALL: Cook double not enough as Bilton fight back


Drayton Grange Blades Under-12s kicked off their season with a 2-2 home draw against Bilton Ajax.

Blades started the brighter team attacking and causing Bilton problems, and they took the lead through a nice finish from Benjamin Cook,

And it wasn’t long before Cook scored again from some nice work down the left from Nayan Bryce.

Blades were hoping for more of the same in the second half, but this time it was all Bilton.

The visitors wanted it more and hit the post and bar a couple of times.

In the last five minutes Bilton got a goal back, and then with the last kick scored again to level the match.

Cook was named man of the match.

DAVENTRY Town Vikings were 6-2 winners against Thorplands Club 81 in their opening Under-12 C League match of the season.

Report: Daventry were on top from the start, and by the half-time interval had opened up a 4-1 lead.

On the mark in the opening 30 minutes were Hourigan, Kaye and Waldouck (2).

The second half was tougher, with Thorplands upping their game, but Daventry extended their lead to 6-1 thanks to another from Waldouck

and one from Parkinson before the Northampton side scored a second consolation goal late on.
